How Do I Qualify For Florida Unemployment

In order to be eligible for Florida unemployment benefits you must meet the following criteria.  First you must have lost your employment through no fault of your own.  This means that quitting a job is generally not going to make you eligible for unemployment benefits.  There are extreme exceptions to that in cases of a hostile work environment however.  In addition to becoming unemployed through no fault of your own, you must be willing and able to accept new work and be actively looking for new employment.  Lastly to be qualified for unemployment benefits you must have earned sufficient funds from your previous employment during the previous few quarters to justify the ability to claim unemployment benefits.

I own a business & am closing the business due to lack of business, hence no income.
Can I file for unemployment after closing the business?

Generally no as this is similar to quitting a job vs losing it sorry and good luck to you.

Can you collect unemployment if you work for your husband and there is no money left to pay for your job anymore, hence being laid off?
